Gov. Christie says New Jersey's medical marijuana program will go forward. The bill was passed and signed into law by Gov. Jon Corzine, but there have been a series of delays. There were delays while the state decided what regulations would govern it. And who would grow it. There was a delay while New Jersey asked if Washington would go after state-sanctioned marijuana programs. There was no assurance on that last one, but he says as a former U.S. attorney he doesn't think that will happened because of limited resources. That's based in part on candidate Barack Obama who said he didn't think it was worth it. Christie said it still is a risk but one he thinks worth taking to alleviate the pain of people suffering in the state. Good, then. Let's get on with providing people with need something to relieve pain and nausea. The sooner the better.
